Jurnal ilmiah akademik ini mengambil nama Indonesian Journal of Curriculum and Educational Technology Studies atau yang disingkat menjadi IJCETS. Dengan demikian jelas bahwa jurnal ini memuat 2 tema besar, yaitu kurikulum dan teknologi pendidikan. Nama “Indonesian Journal” ditujukan untuk memberikan fokus bahwa naskah yang dimuat hendaknya memuat hasil kajian kurikulum dan teknologi pendidikan dalam konteks Indonesia. Di sinilah visi IJCETS adalah membangun bidang kajian kurikulum dan teknologi pendidikan dalam konteks Indonesia melalui publikasi kajian-kajian bidang kurikulum dan teknologi pendidikan yang terjadi dan yang khas Indonesia.
